Major Research Facilities:

  • Nd:YAG Laser GCR-11 (275 mJ, 10 ns) and Narrow bandwidth Dye-lasers.
  • Nd:YAG Laser BRILLIENT (850 mJ, 10 ns) Quantel, France.
  • Atomic beam apparatus and Thermionic diode ion detector.
  • Laser Optogalvanic Spectroscopy and Plasma diagnostics .
  • Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy setup.
  • 1-meter monochromator to study the photodissociation processes.
  • Time of Flight mass spectrometer (locally developed).

CURRENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:

  • High resolution photoabsorption spectra of atoms involving innershell excitations.
  • Multichannel quantum defect theory for the interchannel interactions investigation.
  • Double excitation and photoionization processes.
  • Laser spectroscopy of Rydberg Atoms.
  • Laser induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS).
  • Synchrotron Radiation.
